Let's talk muscle

Well now lets talk a little about the way things are getting with muscle cars, I remember the days when you could find these cars sitting around behind somebodys house, and they didnt really know what it was. Therefore you could pick them up all day long for $100.00 to $1,000.00, so you figured that it would never end, boy were you wrong, now due to the magazines, TV. Shows, the Internet and auctions, people seem to know what these cars are, before the same people wouldnt care, but now money is in the picture and a lot of it. Ive seen cars that youd buy for $100.00 all day long go for $50,000 to 1,500,000. So now after reading the magazines and watching TV. The same people that used to know nothing about these cars, are some how a professor on the subject. Just to borrow a line form Hot Rod magazine, Huge Prices. More Speed Parts Than Ever Mopars go as Pop Icons. Americas Obsession With Muscle car Power Hits Mid-80s Frenzy Its nuts to see a 69 camaro Z/28 go for $130,000 at auction, or a Plymouth super bird go for 1.5 Mill, but it happens every day in this country, but its annoying to think that these people who didnt know a damn thing about muscle cars, think that their some kind of wizard on the subject, just form watching TV. Or doing a little reading, for those of us who have been studying these cars for most of our lives, and really do know what they are all about. I personally have owned and driven quite a few different muscle cars, starting with a 1969 Z/28 camaro, a 68 Corvette, various Dodge Chargers and the like, and have read book after book about them, and probably will until the day I die. These American muscle cars are great cars, and its not the fact that they sell for outrageous amounts of money that makes them great. If youve ever driven a muscle car then youll understand what Im about to say here. Most people that really know these cars have felt like Im about to describe, if you remember, youd get in that car, put the key in the ignition and fire that beast up, when it came to life, it was just like a fire breathing dragon shooting those flames of fury straight out of hell. Youd feel like a god behind the wheel of your American muscle car, and feel like you were unbeatable, even though you knew that you werent unbeatable. Your friends and your lady would wait for you to show up and haul them around in you car, because they felt the same way, you were the cool guy, the one with the badass car, the one that everybody feared.
